The members of the Lexington Volunteer Fire Department would like to thank the community for its continuous generosity and support. Your support and appreciation always make our job easier and more fulfilling. We are writing to inform you that our annual Fund Drive is currently underway. Your donation will help provide essential safety equipment, medical devices, and tools used during fire and medical incidents. Additionally, the funds we receive would allow us to bring in outside training companies to learn about the new and ever-changing challenges the fire service faces every year.

The Lexington Volunteer Fire Department consists of 34 active members and one new recruits. In 2025, our members responded to 447 fire and rescue calls. Each call requires multiple volunteers to leave their workplace, home, and families to assist a community member in need. Our department volunteered 3,076-man hours over the year of 2025. That's 35% of the entire year spent volunteering!

During regular department training, we have volunteered 1,150 man-hours, learning different fire and rescue techniques and tactics. Members have also taken it upon themselves to seek outside training activities such as State Fire School, State EMS Conferences, and the annual Les Lukert Conference. We also hold special events such as Jr Fire Patrol, Fire Prevention Week, and Firefighters' Kids Appertain Day.  The level of service we provide is a direct result of the level of commitment from our members to their community. Last year, your donations helped us pay for all these events as well as a new LUCAS device, which is a portable, mechanical chest compression machine used to preform automated CPR on patients experiencing cardiac arrest. Check out our Facebook page Lexington Volunteer Fire Dept. to keep updated year round of our activities.

There are two easy ways to support your Lexington Volunteer Fire Department this year. The annual “Give Big Lexington” campaign will take place on Thursday, November 12, 2026.
