What Our Organization Does

Pawsome Pups is built on one simple belief: dogs change lives 

and sometimes, they save them.

We train highly skilled service dogs for individuals with medical needs, provide basic obedience training for family pets, and offer boarding services that help dogs feel safe and supported. Our mission is to teach humans to “speak dog,” creating stronger bonds, better communication, and happier homes.

Whether we’re preparing a dog to detect medical episodes or helping a family understand their pet’s behavior, our work is rooted in compassion, expertise, and a deep love for dogs and the people who rely on them.

How We Help the Community

Pawsome Pups serves two vital parts of the Cozad community:

• Individuals with disabilities who need trained service dogs to live safer, more independent lives
• Pet owners who want guidance, training, and support to help their dogs thrive

We help families keep their pets, reduce shelter surrenders, and create safer homes through education and training. And for those living with medical challenges, we provide life‑changing service dogs that offer security, stability, and freedom.

What Our Project Hopes to Accomplish

Our goal is to continue growing so we can help more dogs and more families. Demand for service dogs is rising, and many individuals, especially veterans, cannot afford the cost of a fully trained medical‑alert dog.

With community support, we hope to:

• Expand our service dog training program
• Reach more families who need help with their pets
• Increase our capacity to place dogs with individuals who need them most

Our Impact in Cozad This Year

In the past year, Pawsome Pups has made a meaningful difference in Cozad:

• We placed a specially trained service dog with a young woman in the community, giving her greater independence and safety.
• We helped multiple shelter dogs find loving homes through training and placement.
• We supported families with their pets, improving behavior, communication, and confidence.

Every dog we train whether a service dog or a family pet strengthens a home, a family, and the community around them.

How We Will Use Give Big Funds

Funds raised during Give Big Cozad will support three critical needs:

• Donate a fully trained service dog to a veteran in need

This is our biggest dream and your support can make it possible.

• Improve training equipment and materials

Better tools mean better training, safer dogs, and stronger outcomes.

• Support families in need with essential pet supplies

Food, crates, leashes, enrichment toys small items that make a big difference.
