Every child deserves the opportunity to grow, learn, and walk through the doors of school feeling confident and ready. But for some families, getting the support they need during those important early years can be a challenge.

That’s where Sixpence comes in.

Sixpence partners with families in our Lexington community during the years when children are learning so much about themselves, their families, and the world around them. Through home visits, parent education, developmental support, and connections to community resources, we meet families where they are and walk alongside them.

Our home visitors build relationships with parents and caregivers, sharing simple ideas they can use every day—reading a book together, talking while they cook dinner, playing a game, or turning an everyday moment into an opportunity to learn. These may seem like small things, but those small moments can make a big difference in a child's development.

Over the past year, Sixpence has supported more than 36 families and 45 children in our community. Behind those numbers are real families, real challenges, and real little victories.

With additional financial support, we can provide more books and educational materials, give families resources they can use at home, offer meaningful parent education opportunities, and continue building a program that families can count on.
