The City of Lexington is committed to continuously improving the parks and trails.

The City of Lexington is seeking funding to help complete the Lexington Racquet Center, a new 27,000-square-foot indoor sports facility on the west side of Plum Creek Park.

Plans are underway to expand the hike/bike trails in northwest Lexington and south Lexington. The proposed "Close the Loop Recreational Trails Project" will connect a 3+ mile continuous circle of the trails (8-10 foot wide) from 20th and Adams South to 13th, then West to Airport Road, and North past 20th Street, then East to the existing trail near Independence Street.

Recent Completed Projects:

  • Oak Park Splash Pad
  • Veterans Memorial Pavilion and Amphitheater in Kirkpatrick Memorial Park
  • Lexington Firehouse
  • Golf Driving Range
  • New slide at the swimming pool
  • New hike/bike trail North of the growing neighborhood in Northwest Lexington
  • Two lake restoration projects that improve access, stabilize and prevent erosion, and improve aquatic life habitat
  • Handicap accessibility improvements

More improvements are planned! Help make this happen with your generous contribution to Lexington Parks and Trails Fund!
