Reading during the summer is so important.  We would like to run a summer library program to get kids into the library at least every other week.  We would work with different programs and presenters to bring some activities, both virtual and in-person, to our kids here in Overton, along with getting them to the library to hopefully check-out books.

We envision this taking place at both the school and public library, depending on space needed for different activities.  We would have activities every other week, including a big kick-off and a summer-ending activity, which would be approximately five sessions in the summer of 2021.  Possible ideas we have now are a virtual field trip with Omaha Zoo, a summer program from the Edgerton Explorit Center in Aurora, workshops with the Dawson County Extension office, and some fun art/craft activities.   We would also provide snacks, supplies and schedule presentations.
