Your Gift. Our Impact.

Wishes provide children with a vision of the future that they can hold on to, can count on, and bring them strength through their treatments. Children fight harder for their health when they have something special looming in the future that they can hope for. Unfortunately, not all wish children and their families have a happy ending, which is why a wish can become so important. The strength offered by a wish through the foundation not only helps the wish child but the entire family, especially the parents who understand that this gift is given to their child by strangers who simply care enough to give their treasures to help.

Wishes make life better for kids with critical illnesses. This simple but powerful belief drives Make-A-Wish. When you donate, you're giving children renewed strength to fight their illness, bringing families closer together and uniting entire communities. You can change lives.

While Make-A-Wish is not currently working on any active wishes in Dawson County, wish referrals come in regularly through the website wish.org/nebraska. Anyone can refer a wish, whether you are a parent, guardian, social worker, or medical professional. Donors like you can also help by donating through Give Big Lexington, with all the proceeds going to Greater Nebraska wish kids. If you know someone who might qualify, please refer them to the Make-A-Wish website. Either way, you will be making a kid's wish come true

More About Us:

The Make-A-Wish Foundation began in Phoenix, Arizona, in 1980 with the story of a 7-year-old boy named Christopher Greicius and his inspiring wish to become a police officer. Since then, over 500,000 wishes have been granted to children battling life-threatening illnesses worldwide, with 62 chapters across the United States and 36 international affiliates. The Nebraska chapter began in 1983 and has granted more than 3,000 wishes to children across the state.
