The Lexington Majestic Theatre is a community-driven project that turned the theatre into a non-profit movie house.

2026 in REVIEW

People are coming back to movie studios nationwide! We were proud to offer several first run movies this year which included:

• Zootopia

• The Super Mario Galaxy Movie

• The Devil Wears Prada 2

• Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu

• Toy Story 5

• Moana

• Spiderman: Brand New Day

Having these movies shown on their opening weekend takes 65% of our ticket sales. The Majestic is grateful for the financial support from last year's GBL as we were able to recognize several businesses and individuals as movie sponsors. The Majestic tries to hit all genres with our weekly selections. We showed the Conjuring series last October. We were able to show Christmas movies weekly during the holiday season. The Majestic works with the Lexington Grand Generation Center to offer Wednesday matinees throughout the year. This has brought moviegoers from far and wide to see some of our shows.

We have a new website! 

This was created by former Lexington High School graduates. We are excited to have a user-friendly site with the latest updates at the Lex Majestic. 

We are constantly keeping the maintenance of the Majestic in top shape. Sadly, the popcorn kettle blew up, literally, so we purchased a new one. During the summer our HVAC system in the auditorium was replaced.

2026 Give Big Lex

Our hope is to continue to find several movie sponsors. These sponsors help with the licensing fee for each movie. The different levels would include:

• $1,000 with the donor recognized for sponsoring one month's movie licensing.
• $250 for a donor who would sponsor and be recognized for one week's movie licensing.
• $200 with the donor recognized for sponsoring a holiday or special movie showing

These donation levels will be recognized starting in December 2026 in both our monthly flyer, on our digital marque and our NEW website.

All of our movies are delivered digitally, submitting attendance is done electronically as is our Point of Sales for concessions and in person ticket buying. Keeping up with the latest versions is requiring a new computer and a new POS (our current version is running on Microsoft 7). We are hoping we will be able to get the necessary funds through GBL to update ALL of these items.

A final wishlist item is for new letters for the original signage that has been with the Majestic back when the Falkinburg family ran the movie theatre. These plastic letters have taken a beating. Sometimes the movie display is very colorful as we try to get the best of the worst up for the public to quickly see which wonderful show is playing for the week.

Volunteers have always played a critical role in the success of the Majestic and the need continues. Our digital marque gives a “Shout Out” to the business or organization helping on movie night.

The Majestic Theatre is thankful for the ongoing support, whether it is financial or by coming to one of our shows. We have always worked to bring quality, affordable entertainment back home while making connections with the community and students of Lexington. We plan to keep that going!
