Majestic Theatre

One Community. One Theatre. It's Majestic! The Lexington Majestic Theatre is a community-driven project that turned the theatre into a non-profit movie house.

The Majestic Theatre reached a new milestone this year. On June 15, 2025, the Majestic not only celebrated its 10th anniversary but was also purchased from Lexington Public Schools and is now known as Lex Majestic Theatre, Inc. This new endeavor as a non-profit entity means the Majestic needs the community of Lexington’s support more than ever. Local businesses are using our pre-show advertising, and we have had community support in sponsoring movies over the holidays. We have even been able to offer free popcorn and drinks at some movies thanks to the generosity of local businesses.

Volunteers have always played a critical role in the success of the Majestic, and the need continues. Volunteers can use the Sign-Up Genius option on the theatre website to select nights to work at the theatre. In addition to local middle and high school students, many businesses and individuals donate their time helping at the theater. The digital marque gives a “Shout Out” to the business or organization helping on movie night. Volunteers say they enjoy the Majestic’s atmosphere and like seeing families come in excited to see new movies.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of the Majestic Theatre’s success story and to those who continue to support our small-town theater. Our challenge for this year’s GIVE BIG LEX is to obtain more movie sponsors, whether it be monthly, weekly, or holiday/special features.

Proposed options are:

• $1,000 with the donor recognized for sponsoring one month’s movie licensing
• $250 for a donor who would sponsor and be recognized for one week’s movie licensing
• $200 with the donor recognized for sponsoring a holiday or summer special movie showing

These donation levels will be recognized starting in December 2025.

The Majestic Theatre is thankful for the ongoing support, whether it is financial or by coming to one of our shows. We have always worked to bring quality, affordable entertainment back home while making connections with the community and students of Lexington. We plan to keep that going!
