Lily is Safe From the Shelter but Still Needs Care

Lily is only 3 years old, and despite everything she’s been through, she’s caring for her five tiny two week old puppies with so much love. After being surrendered to one of our rural shelter partners in Virginia, this sweet mama and her babies are now safe with Homeward Trails, but they still need a tremendous amount of help. As if losing her home while caring for newborn puppies wasn’t heartbreaking enough, Lily is also heartworm positive and will need treatment as soon as her puppies are weaned. Right now, she’s pouring everything she has into her babies while carrying the burden of her own medical needs.
