Lexington Basketball Association

The Lexington Basketball Association's inaugural season was a success with over 50 athletes participating in the club. We are developing and structuring LBA as a competitive Basketball Club in Central Nebraska. Our primary goal is to keep competitive basketball accessible to all youth athletes in our area and elevate their love for the game. We will constantly be evaluating our programs to make the necessary adjustments to provide the best possible experience and development we can offer for the youth in our programs. 

With that being said, in the coming 2023-2024 season, we are expanding and including boys teams along with girls. Basketball is a great game that is played by millions of young people in the United States and around the world. Playing basketball fosters the development of peer relationships, self-esteem, leadership qualities, and physical health. 

Lexington is a unique community filled with talented, motivated members. Our goal is to provide a safe environment to develop a love of basketball and learn the skills to advance the sport for any child who wants the opportunity.

We are fortunate enough to have the YMCA providing an early introduction to the sport of basketball and our goal is to expand from that program into a competitive basketball program. Some kids don't want to be competitive and would rather stay recreational in play and effort and that is understandable, and since we want to create options for all kids in the community, the LBA has developed two available programs for the 2023-2024 season. 

The LBA Developmental Skills clinic will be practice sessions only, open to all skill levels. This is a great option for any kid wanting to progress in their skills, or those beginning to learn. This program will provide an opportunity for further advancement into the LBA Competitive program if so desired. The LBA Competitive program will provide an opportunity for players to be placed into age appropriate, ability based teams to compete in rigorous training and travel tournaments.

With your help, we hope to provide the young athletes of Lexington not only with the options to further advance their skills but also to represent the community of Lexington that would make us all proud on and off the court.
