Celebrating Progress: A Look Back at 2024/2025

As we proudly step into our fourth year, the Lexington Basketball Association (LBA) reflects on a remarkable 2024/25 season filled with growth, milestones, and community impact. With nine teams competing this year, we’ve continued to unite passionate athletes and committed coaches, nurturing both basketball talent and a strong sense of community.

A Year of Growth and Achievement

Expanded Reach: 2025 marked a major step forward as we successfully integrated boys teams into our program for the second year. This continued expansion has allowed us to reach a more diverse group of athletes and further deepen our connection within the community.

Scholarship Awards: We awarded over $1,500 in scholarships to players dedicated to improving their skills and basketball knowledge. These scholarships are part of our ongoing commitment to supporting hardworking and promising athletes in their journey.

Tournaments and Events: Our teams proudly competed in several tournaments throughout the year, including the well-respected Winter Classic hosted by the Orthman Community YMCA here in Lexington. These events showcased our players’ abilities and helped solidify LBA’s growing reputation in the Nebraska basketball scene.

LBA Basketball Camp: In November, we hosted our second annual LBA Basketball Camp, once again made possible by the incredible efforts of our volunteer coaches and supporters. The camp offered hands-on training, mentorship, and development opportunities for young athletes—furthering our mission to develop well-rounded players on and off the court.

Looking Ahead: As we gear up for the 2025/2026 season, we are more motivated than ever to build on the success of this past year. We have exciting plans moving forward which will introduce new development opportunities with future coaches and reach even more young athletes throughout our region.
