Cozad United Methodist Church Kids of the Kingdom

Kids of the Kingdom is a faith-based after-school program serving children from kindergarten through 5th grade. Our mission is simple but powerful: to share with every child that Jesus loves them and so do we.

Through activities, loving guidance, and spiritual encouragement, we are planting seeds of faith, kindness, and hope in the hearts of these young minds. Our goal is to create a safe, nurturing environment where children can grow socially and spiritually. Kids of the Kingdom provides a safe, supportive space for children every Wednesday afternoon. Our program gives kids the opportunity to play, enjoy a meal, worship together, and build lasting relationships all while learning important lessons through stories from the Bible.

Weve seen incredible growth over the past few years, now welcoming around 160 children each week from a variety of denominations and backgrounds. This growth reflects both the need in our community and the impact of our mission.

By offering a consistent, nurturing environment rooted in faith and love, we support families and help children grow in character, confidence, and connection with God. At Kids of the Kingdom, our greatest hope is to plant seeds of faith in the hearts of children that will grow throughout their lives. We aim to create a space where kids feel safe, loved, and valued both by us and by Jesus.

Through weekly gatherings filled with worship, Bible stories, fun activities, and meaningful connections, we strive to:

• Help children understand Gods love for them
• Build a strong foundation of faith and character
• Foster friendships rooted in kindness and respect
• Support families by offering a trusted, faith-based program
• Unite children from all backgrounds and denominations under one shared message of love and hope

Our long-term goal is to help raise a generation that knows they are never alone and that their faith can guide them through every season of life. Over the past year, Kids of the Kingdom has made a meaningful impact on the Cozad community by providing a safe, faith-based environment for over 160 children each week. Coming from a variety of denominations and family backgrounds, these children have found a place where they are loved, supported, and encouraged to grow both spiritually and personally.

Here's how we've helped strengthen our community:

• Support for Families: By offering a free after-school program, weve helped working families by giving their children a safe place to go on Wednesday afternoons.
• Spiritual Growth: Children have learned about God’s love through engaging Bible stories, worship, and prayer—planting seeds of faith that will last a lifetime.
• Positive Relationships: Kids have built friendships with peers and mentors in a safe, respectful environment.
• Community Unity: Our program brings together children and volunteers from multiple churches and denominations, helping to unite Cozad in shared faith and purpose.
• Volunteering Opportunities: Dozens of adults and teens from the area have found joy and purpose in serving as mentors, leaders, and helpers strengthening bonds across generations.

We are proud of the difference God is making through Kids of the Kingdom, and we look forward to continuing to serve and grow with the Cozad community. The funds we receive will be directly invested in enhancing and sustaining the Kids of the Kingdom program to better serve the children and families of Cozad. Specifically, the money will be used for: To cover the cost of supplies needed for our activities, provide   t-shirts for all the children in the program, and make improvements to our play area to create a safer and more engaging space for the kids.
