Johnson Lake Recreation (Elwood)

Thanks to your support and donations, Johnson Lake Recreation Area has been able to keep our annual Halloween event free to the public. As well as ongoing support to our life jacket loaner program. Our current goal is to raise funds for a 9-hole disc golf course for public use at our Main campground.

      Your donations have helped purchase 10 disc golf baskets. Although, there have been several delays, the course is slowly progressing. We hope to have the first 5 holes installed by spring of 2027.

 

Our Halloween event is family friendly and free for the public through your donations, which goes towards prize and supply support. Johnson Lake SRA Halloween Haunt is held annually on the 2nd Saturday of October. Currently, this event features campsite decorating, pumpkin painting, kid games, campsite trick-or-treating, and hands on educational talks by naturalists.

Thanks to your donations and continued support, the free access life jacket loaner stations offer vest-style jackets of all sizes for public use. Every year we have seen an increase in the number of life jackets being loaned out. Your continued support for this public service saves lives. Thank you!
