New update
THANK YOU to all that have supported the initial Johnson Lake Pickleball Court campaign. Over 60% for the funding for the entire project was raised last year during Give Big Lexington. This year's goal is to raise the remaining $50,000 to complete the project including amentities, signage, sprinkler system and landscaping.
The construction of the courts is scheduled for October 2026 with the completion of the project set for Spring 2027.
Pickleball Courts are coming to the
Johnson Lake Playground!
The Johnson Lake Community Playground continues to be one of the most loved community spaces at the lake, welcoming hundreds of children and families each year - thanks to the generosity of supporters like you!
With successful fundraising, the addition of two pickleball courts will be completed in fall 2026. The total project cost is estimated to be $140,000 of which $80,000 has already been raised. This budget covers everything: the building of the courts, sturdy nets and fencing, benches, landscaping, signage, and maintenance. Every single donation helps us get closer. Johnson Lake Playground History
- 2023 – Playground equipment installed on a rubberized surface. Amenities include benches, a covered picnic shelter, landscaping, and a parking area.
- 2024 – water project completed, including hydrant, sprinkler system, and public water station.
- COMING in 2026 – Pickleball Project to include the installation of two regulation-sized pickleball courts just west of the picnic shelter at the playground. Construction is scheduled for October 2026.
