TeamMates... making a DIFFERENCE, one child at a time!
We are so fortunate to have the TeamMates Mentoring Program in our school. Half an hour...once a week...two lives changed forever!
This year, we are focusing our fundraising efforts on the book vending machine we received through the READ Nebraska grant. In the spring of 2025, each PK-6th grade student at Elwood Public School received a free book. Your donation will help us keep our vending machine full and get more books into students' hands!
About TeamMates
Tom and Nancy Osborne founded the TeamMates Mentoring Program in 1991 in an effort to provide support and encouragement to school-aged youth. The goal of the program is to see youth graduate from high school and pursue post-secondary opportunities. To reach this goal, youth meet once a week with a caring adult who serves as a mentor.
It is the mission of TeamMates to positively impact the world by inspiring youth to reach their full potential through mentoring. We have around 40 matches currently with around 9 students on our wait list. We are always looking for new mentors to add to our amazing program! For more information about how to become a TeamMates mentor or mentee, please contact: Kilah Oaklund, Program Coordinator at kilah.oaklund@elwoodpirates.org or call the school (308-785-2491).
