Isn't it great to know where your food comes from?  The Beef in Schools program brings together local cattle producers and school food service programs to provide an enhanced connection to agriculture and beef production for all ages of students. Students see how the beef community works together to get beef from pasture to the plate from the vantage point of their local community and resources.

Elwood Beef in Schools is requesting donations to help with purchases related to our program.  School cooks use local beef to make many different recipes including bbq beef sandwiches, beef and noodles, hot beef sandwiches, and we even bring in grills for burgers.  Students can taste the difference in these meals- they have repeatedly told us that on the days when we serve local beef! And they are always quick to go back for seconds. Local beef is also served at prom to the juniors and seniors, who enjoy having a really good steak dinner on this special occasion.

Thank you for helping us keep this program going in our school.
