Dawson County Family Partners was formed in the fall of 2020 as a non-profit organization run by a board of directors from across Dawson County.  This is not a new service to Dawson County; however, it was designed to help families navigate through supplemental existing services.  The primary work of DCFP is to provide a prevention system committed to keeping children, young adults, and families safe in their homes and out of the public systems. Since its inception, DCFP has expanded to provide groceries, clothing, financial assistance, day-to-day help with budgeting, and other tasks. If DCFP cannot help, they will get people in contact with those who can.

Mission:  Dawson County Family Partners is committed to partnering with Families and Communities to Identity Challenges and Create Opportunities that help every child, youth, and family stays safe, healthy, and strong.

Dawson County Family Partners has an office in Lexington, where a Bilingual Central Navigator and the Program Coordinator are located. Other local offices include Cozad and Gothenburg. The Central Navigators and Program Coordinators meet with families who need assistance and help them determine what assistance is appropriate.  If the family is in an emergency need, Dawson County Family Partners has monetary amounts that can be disbursed to support the family.

Dawson County Family Partners has specific criteria that must be met when determining what families will be assisted.  Dawson County Family Partners can help with a wide array of expenses. However, a few of them are energy assistance, house expenses, food, and primary work vehicle repairs.

DCFP uses Give BIG donations to assist individuals in situations that do not qualify for grant reimbursement.
