MORE THAN 65 CATS GETTING SPAYED AND MORE GETTING URGENT MEDICAL CARE IN LIVE TIME. This has been one of our toughest trips to date due to the heat. Seeing animals suffering breaks our hearts but makes us work that much harder because we know what we are doing is saving AND improving their lives. They are depending on us.
Our first trap was a kitten with a deformed back leg who has no paw. She was so hungry that we barely had the trap down and in she hobbled for that wet food. The next day her sister arrived, also with a deformed leg. These kittens stand virtually no chance without us - and we pledge to keep them safe. They will get immediately medical care which could mean amputation, spay, vaccines and safe indoor homes. We have more than 65 cats in house we are sending for spay/neuter- many who would otherwise give birth to dozens of kittens in the coming weeks and months.

In our field work just yesterday we learned of a family who not only needs our help with dozens of cats but has a dog they love with multiple tumors in her mouth and on her belly that they cannot afford to treat. So of course we will do all we can to get the dog the medical intervention needed asap.
Meanwhile we continue to meet loving caretakers who face insurmountable obstacles to caring for dozens of cats & kittens the love, having to make difficult decisions about buying food & medications for
their human family for the cats who have found their way to their properties and now rely on them for food and safety.
The heat continues to threaten these animals whose bodies simply cannot fight off fleas and ticks and skin infections when the heat is enough to tax every ounce of their energy. Fleas & ticks are causing life threatening anemia on top of dehydration. It's URGENT. Our work is always lifesaving but ESPECIALLY IN THIS CRITICAL HEAT.
