Support the Robert Henri Museum and Art Gallery 

The Robert Henri Museum and Art Gallery stands as a national center for the study and celebration of one of America’s most influential artists and educators. Located in Cozad, Nebraska Henri’s boyhood home the museum honors his legacy through exhibitions, publications, educational programming, and a growing archive that connects art lovers, scholars, and travelers to the life and work of a true American master. 

But our mission goes beyond brushstrokes. 

We also preserve the history of the Cozad family and their foundational role in shaping this community. Since our incorporation in 1985, we’ve transformed the historic Hendee Hotel into a vibrant museum space. In 2014, we built a 900-square-foot gallery to house our painting collection. And in 2025, we proudly opened a new gallery six times larger designed to showcase more of Henri’s work and expand our artistic and educational offerings. 

This expansion marks a new chapter for the museum, and we’re already seeing the impact: 

• Over 2,000 annual visitors walk through our doors 
• More than 100,000 people engage with us on Facebook 
• Tens of thousands explore our website and discover Cozad’s cultural legacy 
• Interstate travelers and art enthusiasts from across the country are making us a destination 

Why We Need Your Help

With our new facility we are expanding our education programs and wish to significantly expand the museum’s current educational programs and make them available to a much wider audience. We hope to purchase the equipment that will allow for the museum to provide new programming for the Cozad community and a larger regional community in a digital format. The audiences served will include schoolchildren, seniors, and visitors who cannot get to the museum or participate in our programs. At the present time, because the museum does not have the capability or the equipment, it   does not have the ability to create a comprehensive internet platform. The project’s goal is to significantly expand its outreach via social media. Many of these potential visitors have an interest in Robert Henri. To implement this new outreach the museum will purchase a new digital camera, tripod, screen, whiteboard and the necessary shipping and handling. This will allow the museum to produce new programming to promote the art and legacy of Robert Henri, the Cozad family and art and culture in general. To reach our goals we will need about $6,000.
