The mission of the Cozad Historical Society and 100th Meridian Museum is to preserve and celebrate the rich history of Cozad and its surrounding area. We are dedicated to safeguarding the legacy of our community by curating a diverse collection of historical artifacts, photographs, and exhibits. Through these displays, we aim to provide an engaging and educational experience for visitors, offering insights into the region's past and honoring the stories of those who have shaped its development. Our commitment is to ensure that the history of Cozad is both preserved for future generations and accessible to all who wish to learn about and appreciate our heritage.

By continually enhancing its facilities and broadening its educational programs, the 100th Meridian Museum plays a vital role in honoring and preserving the rich stories and legacy of Cozad. These efforts not only celebrate the region’s unique history but also foster a deeper connection within the community. Through its engaging exhibits and educational offerings, the museum helps visitors and residents alike develop a greater appreciation for Cozad’s past, strengthening the community's identity and sense of pride. The museum's collection of exhibits and photographs has been generously gifted by community members, reflecting the collective spirit of local generosity and involvement. This ongoing support enables the museum to celebrate both past and present members of the Cozad community, ensuring that their contributions are recognized and remembered. Additionally, the museum proudly houses the Touring Coach used by the Cozad Ambassadors, a significant artifact that connects visitors to the historical traditions of the community. As part of its commitment to educational outreach, the museum is also working towards offering guided tours for local elementary school classes, aiming to inspire young minds and instill a sense of local pride from an early age. Through these initiatives, the 100th Meridian Museum remains dedicated to enriching the community’s understanding of its heritage while continually growing as a cherished educational resource.

Our fundraising target is set at $5,000 to support ongoing enhancements to the museum and its facilities. We are committed to continually improving the museum experience, and one of our key objectives is to invest in display kiosks. These kiosks will offer visitors an interactive, self-guided tour of the museum, providing detailed explanations and insights into our exhibits. By incorporating this technology, we aim to enrich the educational value of our displays and make our historical content more accessible and engaging for all who visit. Your support will play a crucial role in achieving these goals and ensuring that the museum continues to be a vibrant resource for our community.

This past year we have participated in the annual Spook Night and our annual Breakfast with Santa. These events bring many local children together with their families to have a fun time as well explore the museum. Spook Night brought in over 300 children and the Breakfast with Santa hosted over 200 people. We collaborated with the Tara Linn Dance Studio as the dancers performed their Holiday performance at the Breakfast with Santa.

We continually try and improve our displays with information. To do this we would like to eventually have kiosks where visitors can have a self guided tour with information on the displays in the museum. We also have maintenance projects that require more funding.
