The Lexington High School Class of 1977 has established a scholarship in memory of our classmates who have passed away. Our reunion committee always wondered how to honor the memory of classmates who died. During our 30-year class reunion planning, we decided we would each be responsible for our own memorial gifts by donating money to the Lexington Foundation to establish an annual memorial scholarship. We were able to fund approximately five years of scholarships after our first drive.

Over the years, we encourage our classmates to give as they are able in order to keep the scholarship alive and going. We’ve been able to award one scholarship every year since 2007! We are appreciative to LCF and Give BIG Lexington for the gifts we have been given.

Memorial gifts given are directed to the Class of 1977 Scholarship Fund.

The Lexington Community Foundation administers a $500 annual scholarship that is awarded to a Lexington High School senior who enrolls in any university, college, or technical school in Nebraska.
