American Legion Post 111

For generations, American Legion Post 111 has brought Veterans together to continue serving here at home. We support fellow Veterans and their families, create opportunities for local youth, honor those who served before us, preserve our patriotic traditions, and volunteer wherever our community needs us. Our work is guided by the American Legion Four Pillars. 

Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation

American Legion Post 111 works to make sure veterans in our community remain connected, recognized, and supported. Our Veterans Breakfast provides an opportunity for Veterans to gather for fellowship and connection. Veterans Range Day brings Veterans and their families together for a day of camaraderie and recreation.

Americanism

American Legion Post 111 works to ensure patriotism, remembrance, and service remain visible throughout the Lexington community. Our annual September 11th Community Concert brings people together to remember the lives lost, recognize those who answered the call to serve, and strengthen the sense of community that emerged from one of the most consequential days in our nation's recent history.

Children & Youth

Some of American Legion Post 111's most important work is helping young people develop leadership, citizenship, responsibility, and a commitment to their community. We help send local students to American Legion Boys State and Auxiliary Girls State. We also support the Junior Law Cadet program. Our Youth Fishing Day gives children an opportunity to get outdoors and spend time with Veterans and the community, while Trunk or Treat provides a safe, family-friendly event for Lexington children.

National Security

Our veterans bring decades of military experience, leadership, and a commitment to service back home to Lexington. We work to keep veterans engaged in the community, encourage responsible citizenship, support those who serve, and help the next generation understand the responsibilities that accompany the freedoms we enjoy.
