$10,000 goal

Our medical fund is near depletion on what has been a very, very hard summer of medical needs to save lives. We have incurred more than $75,000 in vetting costs in under three months, including several lifesaving surgeries, Parvo, pneumonia hospitalizations and more.  We are exhausted – and so is our Medical Fund.

We are THRILLED that the Julius Fleischman Foundation, Inc. has heard of our hard work and is offering a generous $10,000 matching donation to help us keep saving lives

Please consider a donation of ANY AMOUNT today – the sooner we reach the goal, the sooner we can say yes to the animals who need us every week. We do not want to slow down our work – but the needs keep piling up. Your donation will automatically double.

All donors giving $100 or more will be entered into a raffle to win a 2 night stay at the Trails Home Farm, along with a $50 Amazon gift card once our goal is met!

Below are just a few of the dozens of animals we have helped in the last three months to get the urgent medical care they needed. Care they would simply not gotten without us. You can make a difference immediately for an animal suffering. No animal should die from a treatable illness or injury.

Please donate today

Little Red was found after being attacked by other dogs on the side of the road lying in a ditch. No one knows how long he had been there suffering. But thankfully a passerby saw him and stopped. And just in time. He had multiple open wounds along his chest and was near death. He required immediate surgery but the wound could not be closed up at that time due to the severity of the injury. He could not go to a shelter. He had no place to go and could have been euthanized, which may have been a humane alternative. But our wonderful shelter partner called us begging us to take him in and we worked overtime to find a foster who could handle his major medical needs. Our team worked with the wonderful vet near the shelter where he was found as well as our own wonderful vets who have closely worked with this boy to heal him up and get him ready for his new life. He’s been with us for almost two months – the entire summer mostly – healing up and now he’s ready to be adopted. It took a large, dedicated village to save this little guy – and LOTS of money – but he is worth it. We want to be able to say YES to all the “Little Reds” out there….

Harrison was removed from a property where there are about 150 cats living - several in desperate need of medical attention. While the people in this very, very poor trailer park community do their best to care for the cats and kittens there, they simply do not have the resources to do so. And due to our Trails UP work in this community, a kind person contacted us about sweet Harrison. When we found him, the pain he was enduring was almost too much to even look at. It was clear he needed his eyeball removed right away – but sadly, he needed stabilization before that could happen as the pain had impacted his entire body resulting in him being emaciated, anemic and near death. We rushed him to the vet where he was hospitalized and after weeks of specialty care was able to have his surgery. Slow feeding and medications got him back to being a “normal” kitten. Months later now, Harrison is a healthy, happy, thriving boy whose life without our intervention would have been unbearably painful and short.

Gaia was found running at large with her brother, skinny and wobbly. The finder contacted HT to take them both in but the owners eventually came forward and took back only the boy, leaving his sister at a shelter. HT took her in but soon discovered that something was very wrong with this girl. Her cuteness and immense love for people and wiggly happiness easily overshadowed what turned out to be a major orthopedic issue common in bulldogs. She needed DOUBLE FHO surgery for both of her knees from an injury that the docs could not figure out the origin, but think it may have been from a traumatic birth injury. These two surgeries have cost over $10,000 – not something we would or could always say yes to.

She is just now done with her second surgery and it coincided as well with her FINALLY getting an adoptive family - after almost 6 months with us - full of children which she loves the most. Without our giving her this chance Gaia would have faced euthanasia.

PLEASE HELP US REACH THIS GOAL as the clock ticks every day for the animals who need us and we can only say yes when we have the funds to do so.

All donors giving $100 or more will be entered into a raffle to win a 2 night stay at the Trails Home Farm, along with $50 Amazon gift card once our goal is met!
