$15,000 Goal

In February of 2015, Youth Futures Shelter Home became the first residential support temporary youth shelter in Utah.

Over our first 10 years of operation (2015–2025), we have provided:

  • 42,353 shelter night stays
  • 96,467 meals
  • 8,055 resource room accesses
  • Thousands of drop-in services and case management interactions

We have served more than 5,000 youth across our programs in Ogden, St. George, and Cedar City, with a total of 55 shelter and transitional beds statewide.

Before the opening of Youth Futures, many youth experiencing homelessness in Utah resorted to sleeping on the streets, in camps, abandoned buildings, or other unsafe locations. Youth Futures has created secure, home-like environments where these young people can feel safe while receiving practical support to stabilize their situations and build toward independence.

Our emergency shelters provide temporary overnight beds for youth ages 12–18 who have no other safe place to go. Shelters are open 24 hours a day and include meals, drop-in services, case management, and access to basic resources.

Additionally, our Transitional Living Program in Cedar City provides nine units of longer-term housing for youth aged 16–22. This program provides up to 24 months of stable housing combined with structured life-skills training, case management, and guidance to help participants develop the practical abilities needed for successful independent living.

It is estimated that thousands of youth experience homelessness in Utah each year, with ongoing needs highlighted in state reports.

Our Vision: A world where all youth have a safe and supportive place to build a stable future.

Our Mission: Youth Futures provides safe shelter, collaborative resources, respectful guidance, and practical support to runaway, homeless, and unaccompanied youth in Utah. We prioritize family reunification whenever it is safe and appropriate, while helping youth develop the skills necessary for long-term independence.

Our Program: We connect each youth on an individual basis with food, temporary or transitional housing, and resources to build practical life skills for a healthy future. Each youth receives guidance in a supportive and structured environment to create their own path forward. We always collaborate first with the youth’s family of origin to promote understanding and reunification where possible. Our Transitional Living Program in Cedar City extends this support for older youth ready to take the next step toward self-sufficiency.

Our Purpose: To provide runaway, homeless, and unaccompanied youth with a safe and nurturing environment where they can develop the skills to become responsible, healthy, and productive members of society.

Our Goal: To reduce the number of youth left without shelter or support; our doors are open to provide them with emergency shelter, transitional housing, practical resources, guidance, and opportunities for stability and self-sufficiency.
